OTD Calculator estimates the out-the-door price of a car in every US state: the price plus sales tax, title, registration, and the dealer doc fee, minus your trade-in. Pick a state, type a price, and the total and monthly payment update as you type.

It also has a quote checker. Paste the itemized buyer’s order from a dealer and each line is compared with the state’s recorded fees, so you get a fair out-the-door total, the difference, and a short script you can send back.

It is written and maintained by Michael. It is not a law firm, a tax advisor, or a dealer. The current fee release was checked on October 24, 2026.

Every rate and fee comes from an official statute, fee chart, or agency page, linked next to the number. Figures we have not re-checked for this release are labeled, so you know which ones to confirm with your DMV.
